Thank you for taking the time to view our new web page, which aims to give those who have never visited our store a bit of background about us and our products.

Our three storey showroom dates back to the early 1500’s, from the century that brought us the Mona Lisa, Michelangelo’s painting of the Sistine Chapel, Nostradamus’s book Centuries, the return of Sir Francis Drake, and the execution of Mary Queen of Scots.

It is situated in Coventry City centre on Medieval Spon Street, just off Corporation Street. A local tourist attraction, Spon Street is lined with other Grade II listed 16th Century buildings, giving it a warm, welcoming character, and is certainly a nice change from the usual boring, sterile glass stores we’re used to on the high street. Some of the buildings have always stood here, but this one was dismantled and relocated here from another part of Coventry after it survived heavy bombing in World War II. I hope the photos do the building some justice – it’s certainly a talking point for many visitors.

Hi-Fi Excellence was founded in 1984 by Frank Harvey, its trading name, quickly outgrowing its original premises at Marlborough Road. After moving to much larger premises in our current location in medieval Spon Street, the company continued to build up a strong reputation for itself, adding many prestigious brands to its already impressive line up. Our website, HiFix.co.uk, has also seen huge growth over the past few years, and is quickly becoming one of the most popular websites in the country due to its expansive catalogue, quick service, and helpful advice. We’re hoping to add a few more major brands over the next few months.

At Frank Harvey Hi-Fi, a member of the British Audio Dealers Association, we aim to provide you with the widest choice available of quality hi-fi and AV brands under one roof, all for audition in our 3 AV and Hi-fi demonstration rooms.
